As a last hurrah before my knee surgery, my son and I camped for 4 days at June Lake in the eastern Sierras. Our object was fall color as the Eastern Sierra has the most of what passes for Fall Color in California. As I turned out, most of our favorite images were of other things.

The image above was taken along Lee Vining Creek. It’s a favorite area to shoot and relatively off the beaten track for photographers. This is a reprise of a shot I took some years ago. I still like the view. It’s deceptive in that just in front of the bottom of the photo is the road. I set the tripod close to the edge and used a 17mm lens
